Bow Valley Credit Union In Canada Turns On Bitcoin Purchases For Albertans

Bow Valley Credit Union (BVCU) has collaborated with Balance and Bull Bitcoin to launch the first “Bitcoin Gateway” of Canada, a service that allows members to buy Bitcoin directly from their BVCU accounts. Starting today, members can buy Bitcoin directly from their BVCU account through their app, allowing simple Bitcoin purchases with Canadian dollars without the need for deep and technical knowledge and maintain the complete title of Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin Gateway platform acts as a bridge between BVCU, Balance and Bull Bitcoin, unlocking a safe and easy to use way to accumulate Real Bitcoin. “Unlike the platforms that offer cryptographic derivatives or aggregate products, the Bitcoin purchased here is completely owned by the user, stored safely, insured and never exploited,” said the companies in Bitcoin Magazine in a joint declaration.

Balance, the oldest custodian of Canada’s bitcoin since 2017, manages the case, while the Bull Bitcoin API integration guarantees competitive and real time prices. This configuration allows users to evade complex trading platforms, making Bitcoin accessible to both new arrivals and expert owners. (Bull Bitcoin does not manage the custody, remaining a non -custodial exchange.)

“This is an exciting collaboration for Bull Bitcoin as it marks the first large -scale integration of

Bull Bitcoin bees to facilitate the institutional adoption of Bitcoin, “added Francis Pouliot, Bull’s CEO

Bitcoin, the company that provides Fiat and Bitcoin liquidity at the partnership. Founded in Montreal in 2013, Bull Bitcoin is one of Bitcoin’s oldest exchanges in Canada with a strong attention to users’ privacy and technological innovation.

At the service of Alberta since 1953, Bow Valley Credit Union has built a reputation for bank activities focused on members who challenge traditional models. The Bitcoin Gateway reflects this Ethos, offering members a practical way of covering inflation or diversifying their wallets. For the growing community of Bitcoin, this move reports traditional traction and maturation, while financial institutions begin to integrate the asset in the daily banking sector.

Members can register for Bitcoin Gateway directly through their BVCU account, with early access now. The simplicity of the service – the purchase of Bitcoin in a few clicks – could set a precedent for other Canadian credit unions, potentially accelerating the adoption of Bitcoin at national level. While Bvcu only serves the residents of Alberta today, George Bordianu, co-founder and CEO of Balance, told Bitcoin magazine that “in the end we will open it more generally to the Canadian public … our goal in balance is to give a wallet to each Canadian user with their name and title on it”.

Since companies and people see more and more bitcoin as a value shop, Bvcu’s initiative positions it as a far -sighted player in the financial scene of Alberta.
