Kraken Partners With Mastercard To Bring Bitcoin Payments To Over 150 Million Merchants

Mastercard has announced a reference partnership with Kraken to allow Bitcoin and crypt-in-the real world payments throughout the United Kingdom and in Europe. The collaboration aims to allow Kraken users to spend their digital resources in over 150 million traders all over the world that accept Mastercard, marking a great step forward in the integration of Bitcoin in daily trade.

“Mastercard undertakes to guide innovation and expand the possibilities of digital payments,” said Scott Abrahams, executive vice -president of Global Partnerships at Mastercard. “Our partnership with Kraken is a concrete demonstration of this, while we work together to unlock the real potential of cryptoassiets for everyday use. With a shared ambition to simplify, interact and protect the ecosystem of digital resources, we are proud to collaborate with Kraken and bring real value to their user base.”

Kraken, one of the most consolidated cryptocurrency exchanges with over 15 million customers globally, uses the vast infrastructure of Mastercard payments to expand its product suite. This includes the rapid launch of physical and digital debit cards that connect the balances of retail cryptocurrencies.

The partnership is also based on Kraken Pay’s growing momentum, a feature introduced by the exchange to offer rapid and without cryptocurrency edges and Fiat currencies. In just three months since its launch, over 200,000 users have activated their personal “Kraktag” to send money all over the world with the simplicity of sending a message, said the announcement.

“Crypto is transforming the payments sector and we foresee a future in which global trade and daily payments are fueled by cryptoasset,” said Kraken’s Co-Cei David Ripley. “Our customers want to be able to easily pay for goods and services of the real world with their cryptocurrencies or stablecoins. Our partnership with Mastercard is an important step in the realization of this vision. Together, we will unlock the full potential of cryptoassiet in everyday life, guaranteeing their long -term relevance and usefulness.”

Kraken users in the United Kingdom and Europe can now join the waiting list for the next Crypto debit cards and start preparing to use their BTC in daily expenses, reporting a new chapter in the traditional adoption of Bitcoin as a functional payment tool.

Last year, Mastercard collaborated with Exchange Mercado Bitcoin to launch his Crypto Mastercard credentials, allowing his pilot transactions “First peer-to-peer (P2P)” using long-term and complex blockchain addresses.
