Proposed Bipartisan Legislation Recognizes Bitcoin As A Technology That Supports Democracy

Last Wednesday, the office of Rep. Gabe Amo published a press release that states that the representative I love and the representative Kim (R-Ca) reintroduced a bipartisan resolution to support the use of distribution register technologies (DLT), including Blockchain, to “support democratic governance, human rights, freedom of information, transparency and innovation all over the world.

The resolution (whose complete text has not been connected in the press release) urges federal agencies to explore and support DLT and expresses Congress’s commitment to progress responsible innovation on this technological front.

The representative Kim commented on the importance of this technology in the press release.

“The leadership of the United States in emerging technologies such as Blockchain not only improves the lives of Americans, but also helps us to make transparency in US foreign assistance, human rights and freedom all over the world,” said representative Kim.

“This legislation is vital, especially as we see the Chinese Communist Party that exports its surveillance technologies and authoritarianism abroad. I am proud to join the deputy I love to guide this bipartisan resolution to ensure that the United States shines like a lighthouse of hope, freedom and innovation on the world scene”, he added.

The press release also cited how, in the county of Screven, in Georgia, the blockchain bitcoin has been used to safeguard the electoral results and provide transparency to the voters, connecting to this article, which tells the story of the event.

Simple proof, the company that helped Schenic County officials to commit its votes in the unchangeable Bitcoin blockchain recently helped Republicans in the County of Williamson, in Tennessee to do the same with the results of the republican leadership vote.

Simple proof took the map when it contributed to guaranteeing the results of the most recent presidential elections in Guatemala, whose story is told in the short documentary immutable democracy. Thanks to the votes that the elections were protected on the Bitcoin blockchain, the integrity of the elections has been supported, despite the efforts made to tamper with the physical votes once the vote end.

The work that the company carried out both in the United States and abroad is a testimony of a representative I love in the press release.

“Innovative technology such as Blockchain helps to promote transparency and strengthen democratic institutions all over the world,” said the deputy.

While the press release provided tests of the Bitcoin Blockchain used to preserve the democratic values, it did not distinguish between Bitcoin and other blockchains, many of which, by design, are less sure.
