RGB V0.11.1 was released on Bitcoin Mainnet, allowing the emission and management of digital resources such as Stablecoins, NFT and Token directly on Bitcoin and the Lightning Network.
RGB is an intelligent contract protocol and tokens that uses validation on the client side to confirm transactions without intermediaries. It works without third parties, validators or federations of trust. The resources are anchored to Bitcoin but validated out of chain to maintain scalability and privacy.
“The launch of RGB is not just a technical milestone-a turning point,” said Viktor Ihnatiuk, co-founder of Boosty Labs and Association RGB. “With RGB’s programmability and privacy combined with lightning scalability and in the context of a renewed cycle of Bitcoin bitcoins, the industry could finally realize that it no longer needs Ethereum, Solana or any other chain to build significant decentralized products. Now we have everything – and is on Bitcoin.”
“With RGB now live on Bitcoin Mainnet, the tools around native programmable resources are finally real,” said the founder of the Bitmask & RGB Protocol Association Gideon Nwzem. “We have gone from prototypes to real products: Bitmask now supports RGB20, and it is only the beginning. This unlocks a new era for the tokens of the real world and the migration of the global financial system according to the Bitcoin standard.”
With this version, users can create, send and receive resources on Bitcoin, use programmable contracts and transfer tokens to lightning with low taxes. The update also supports the emission of activity and trading entirely within the Bitcoin system.
“RGB’s power on Bitcoin has unlocked by Lenfi. LNFI unlocks Difi for multi-depth lightning, providing the scalable regulation layer, required for serious financial applications, the high volume association, the property management and the liquidity of Stablecoin”, said the founder of LNFI & RGB Association Darius. “We are building the basic infrastructure so that the projects can distribute powerful RGB applications from the first day.”
The association of the RGB protocol was officially announced on July 14, as a collaborative effort by the main actors who develop the protocol, including Bitfinex, Fulgur Ventures, Bitmask di dia, Plan B Network, Bleost Labs, Kaleidoswap, Thunderstack, Bitcoin Tribes and Lnfi.
So far more RBG -based companies have already been launched, including:
- LNFI network, providing infrastructure for the issue and trading of RGB activities.
- Bitcoin Tribe, offering an app for sending, receiving and managing the RGB token.
- Bitmask, supporting the RGB20 and RGB21 tokens and will allow atomic scripts without a screenplay on July 21.
- Thunderstack, who released Thunderlink, an API for RGB resources transfers.
- Iris Wallet, a portfolio in support of the local management of RGB and Bitcoin resources.
“This version marks a big step forward not only for RGB, but for how people interact with Bitcoin resources,” said the founder of the Bitcoin Tribe & RGB Protocol Association Anant Tapadia. “With Bitcoin Tribes, you can issue, send and manage resources freely, everything stay in control. And with Hollepunch that feeds peer-to-peer communication, we are building more than a wallet, we are building a real level of community for bitcoin. It is only the beginning.”
