In a new bold phase of mixing and innovation Bitcoin innovation, Lomond School has announced the launch of the Satoshi scholarships, an unique Bitcoin scholarship initiative, according to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine. The announcement comes together with a strategic partnership with the famous economist Dr. Saifedean Amemous to develop an Austrian economy curriculum for students.
The day of independent co-educational and the college, already known as the first in the world to accept Bitcoin for school taxes, now offers 21 Biennial scholarships and 21 two-year scholarships, covering the prestigious international school maturity program (IB). Each scholarship is designed to allow students with a passion for economics, innovation and critical thinking, regardless of their background.
“The response of the Bitcoin community since he announced our Bitcoin acceptance for taxes has been phenomenal,” said Claire Chisholm, principal of Lomond School, during an apparition on Jordan Walker Bitcoin collective podcast. “The scholarship program seemed to be the next natural step. With Dr. Amemous supporting our curriculum and the introduction of our scholarship program, I invite supporters committed to joining us as benefactors and contribute to modeling the next generation of economic thinkers.”
In addition to the scholarships, the school is also launching a new economy curriculum in collaboration with Dr. AMMUS, better known as the author of The Bitcoin standard. The initiative will emphasize the Austrian economy, solid money and the ethics of financial freedom.
“The future of freedom and prosperity depends on the understanding of the next generation,” said dr. Ammous. “With this partnership, we aim to plant the seeds of long -term thought and financial literacy at the beginning of life. I am happy to work with Lomond School in this incredibly exciting project.”
The curriculum will complete the already progressive learning model of Lomond, with the practical integration of Bitcoin. Students will explore the decentralized financial principles, interact with Bitcoin Mining Hardware donated to the school and will acquire a practical understanding of monetary systems beyond the traditional class.
The Lomond School said that it is actively looking for 43 founding benefactors, one for each scholarship and the flagship sponsor package. As Chisholm said: “Be one of the 43 to model the future – where education meets innovation and where the Austrian economy takes root in class. Help us to change the world from Helensburgh”.
