In a post on X, Shiba Inu Marketing Manager Lucie (@lucieshib) raised the possible effects of the upcoming “Pectra” bonggrade from Ethereum on Shibarium, the layer-2 (L2) solution built by Shiba Inu-Ecosystem. The PECTRA upgrade for publication in April 2025 fells two planned improvements – prediction (execution layer) and electra (consensus layer) – a single overhaul that was developed to improve scalability, maintain and user experience in the Ethereum network.
How Shiba Inu will benefit from Pectra
Lucie underlined several advantages that Ethereum’s evolution could bring to L2 platforms such as Shibarium. In her post, she found that the upgrade “Layer 2 solutions faster, cheaper and easier”, which the largely thank you for reducing friction and improving accessibility. She explained: “Users do not need ETH for gas fees if they move assets and lowers costs and friction.”
In addition, there will be easier on board. New users can start using Layer 2 networks without purchasing the ETH first and reducing the entry barriers. Ultimately, the PECTRA upgrade could lead to a higher introduction of Shiba Inu.
“Flexible gas payments and better user experience mean that more people use L2S and promote growth and efficiency. This upgrade makes the Ethereum ecosystem more accessible and affordable and gives layer -2 solutions an enormous thrust, ”concludes Lucie.
The Ethereum’s PECTRA upgrade combines several improvements with which the core processes of the blockchain are optimal and their efficiency are promoted. This includes an account abstraction (ERC-4337) with which the gas fees in an ERC 20 token can be paid and not only in ETH.
According to the Shibarium updates (@shibzens), this could open up the possibility of using Shiba Inu -ökosystem -Token – Shib, bones or treatment – for transaction fees for Ethereum, although the actual acceptance depends on the wallet and protocol support.
In addition, validators can set up to 2,048 ETH under PECTRA – a serious jump from the current 32 ETH request. While this increase could make large -laid -in -law more uncomplicated, it also raises questions about centralization if a smaller number of validators collects disproportionate participation.
Planned improvements in the Virtual Machine (EVM) Ethereum (EVM) aim to reduce the computing costs and accelerate the execution times, which makes transactions cheaper for users. This could in turn improve the affordability of L2 activity and go to Shibarium and other roll-up-based solutions. A new data structure that optimizes CLOS trees, how information is saved and validated to reduce the requirements of the knot storage and thus enable more smooth network operation.
Peerdas (peer data availability), which were developed to support L2 rollups by reducing the costs and increasing the throughput, solutions such as Shibarium L2 could offer an even stronger competitive advantage by improving the treatment of data extraordinary and secure off-chain data.
While the potential for SHIB, bones or treatment exists to viable gas fee currencies, experts are careful not only for several performance improvements for Shibarium that a broad introduction of such functions in the active participation and support of wall pockets, decentralized applications (DAPPS) and a broader etherutructive infrastructure will be based. “[It] Depends on the introduction by contents and protocols, ”concludes @Shibizens.
At the time of the printing machine, Shib traded at $ 0.0000001329.
