- L2-supported Sony teams have a plume network to bring in a real-world asset (RWA) harvest onchain via Skylink.
- Users can now access tokenized US resources and private credit native to the Soneium ecosystem.
Plume, a full-stack RWA chain, cooperated Soneium.
The plume, which charges itself as the first blockchain ecosystem that is built for RWAFI, offers an end-to-end tokenization stack and a growing network of more than 180 projects building its infrastructure. Its main offering-skylink-enable secure, composable amount of value throughout the chain, effectively bridging tokenized real-world yields to other ecosystems.
By integrating with the Soneium, Skylink will now allow users to access yields from asset-supported products such as tokenized US resources and private credit-a leap for grade-consumer exposure to traditional financial instruments in defi-native formats.
“We are excited to partner with Soneium to speed up previously inaccessible yield opportunities for more than 5.1 million users in their ecosystem,” said Chris Yin, CEO of Plume. “The future of RWAFI is not just about the owners living in a single chain, but enabling real produce that flows seamlessly where the users are.”
The move is aligned with the growing ambition of the Sony Group Corporation to the blockchain infrastructure. The Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL)-a combined initiative between the Sony and Startale Group-has developed Soneium as a general purpose Ethereum-Compatible Layer 2, designed to aboard consumers and creators in size. The network is preparing for a launch of mini-apps powered by blockchain on line, one of the largest messaging apps in Asia, and cooperated with the Moca Network to generate anime-centric digital identities and playing applications.
“Access to real-world yield by tokenized assets is a key step in making blockchain services associated with key financial use cases,” said Ryohei Suzuki, Director of SBSL. “This cooperation with the plume opens up a compelling new value layer for our users.”
Partial partnership with the plume-soneium symbolizes a broader web3 transition-from imaginary crypto-native tokens to the yield of instruments rooted in traditional finances. Industry players such as Ondo Finance, Maple, and Superstate are racing to provide similar tokenized exposure to RWAs, but whole-stacking, cross-chain positions are unique to RWA infrastructure providers.
Soneium integration will also come at a time when the institutional interest in the onchain financial has fallen. Expanding Blackrock’s digital assets, alongside Fidelity and Franklin Templeton experiments with tokenize treasures, emphasizes the growing appetite for blockchain-native instruments that reflect real-world finances.
Plume’s Skylink aims to unite fragments of efforts by creating a cross-chain RWAFI liquidity layer, which connects exciting yield opportunities to greater crypto user bases. The integration of Soneium, along with consumer-first orientation and backing from one of Japan’s strongest tech conglomerates, can prove pivotal in the accelerated mainstream adoption.
