Tron Founder Justin Sun Sues Bloomberg Over Crypto Asset Disclosure

It is certainly difficult to be a cryptographic billionaire and keep the whole press out of your wallet! Ask Justin Sun as he suits Bloomberg from preventing them from disseminating sensitive information on his cryptocurrencies.

Sun filed a case on August 11, 2025 at the United States District Court for the Delaware District, claiming Bloomberg’s dissemination of his crypt properties undermines his privacy and could potentially put him and his family at risk.

According to Sun, Bloomberg approached him at the beginning of this year to include him in his online billionaire index, where he ranks some of the richest people in the world.

Sun claims to have agreed to participate only after Bloomberg assured him that they would have maintained all the popular activities, in particular those related to his crypt, strictly confidential properties and would have used them exclusively to verify his net assets.

According to his complaint, Sun shared his details on the portfolio and the information of the resources through a safe channel with the Team for verifying the wealth of Bloomberg, believing that they would share his cryptocurrency portfolio as a single aggregate figure without revealing allocations of token or breaking of the wallet.

Sun launched Tron in 2017 and has substantial cryptors and traditional resources. He says that insurance from Bloomberg were fundamental in his decision to cooperate.

Bloomberg had ensured both verbally and in writing

Continuing with the violation of the theme of trust, Sun states that the editorial giant has repeatedly assured him, both verbally and in writing, that he would have used his activities of activities only for verification and eliminating them later.

In addition, Bloomberg’s team assured Sun that only a handful of selected staff would have been granted access to the participations of Sun’s resources. When Sun’s lawyers set explicit conditions to use the data only for verification purposes, Bloomberg did not rejected.

However, in July, the Sun team learned that Bloomberg’s journalists were referring to data from the set of data reserved in a separate article.

Shortly thereafter, the Bloomberg team sent a draft profile for its billionaire index, which, according to Sun, had multiple inaccuracies and, more critically, a granular break of its cryptocurrencies by type of token and amount.

Sun says he will go out will make him a main goal for hackers

Sun states that Bloomberg’s breakdown of his participations in his draft profile is much more granular and detailed than that which is typically published for other sector figures such as Brian Armstrong of Coinbase or Changpeng Zhao of Binance.

He maintains that his crypto participations, if made public, would allow analysts to map his fingerprint, making it a high -value goal for IT attacks, thefts and even physical damage.

The complaint highlights how blockchain transparency can become a responsibility if someone reveals the composition of the activities. He cites previous cases of crypt -miliardari who face extortion, kidnapping and other threats and includes examples that Bloomberg himself has reported in the past.

Justin Sun suits Bloomberg for two legal counts

Sun has filed his cause for two legal reasons, including the public dissemination of private facts and an okay of the promises, stating that the planned publication of Bloomberg violates the insurance that led him to share sensitive data.

In addition, the complaint asks for a temporary restrictive order together with preliminary and permanent injunctions to block Bloomberg from releasing the breakdown of the activities. He is also pursuing reimbursement of legal fees and has requested a jury process.

In addition, he warned that the publication of the granular portfolio data could trigger consequences that exceed a single article.
